Commercial Electrical Estimator – Lead Industrial & Commercial Bidding for PFD Electric, LLC

Job Overview:

• Company: PFD Electric, LLC
• Salary/Pay Rate: $75,000 - $85,000 base per year (with bonus opportunities)
• Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

The Opportunity:

You will own and drive the daily estimating process for complex commercial and industrial electrical projects across Arizona. Working directly with field leadership, you will take the hands-on preconstruction workload off operations while transforming technical vision into winning, accurate proposals. Your expertise will directly shape the company's estimating strategy, project pipeline, and future growth as part of a close-knit team.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Prepare accurate estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects from initial plan review through final proposal submission.
• Perform detailed electrical takeoffs to calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for hard-bid, design-build, and budgetary projects.
• Collaborate with the Director of Field Operations to establish project scope, constructability approach, risk profiles, and labor assumptions.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing while proactively identifying missing information or bid clarifications.
• Maintain an organized estimating pipeline to track active bid deadlines, scope revisions, and proposal statuses.
• Prepare complete project turnover packages upon award to ensure seamless transitions for budget, labor assumptions, and vendor commitments.
• Review estimated versus actual project performance post-completion to continuously optimize future bidding accuracy.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Mandatory proficiency and hands-on experience using Conest Estimating Software.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction and/or estimating.
• Proven ability to perform detailed electrical takeoffs and build complete bid packages from scratch.
• Strong expertise in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and project documents.
• In-depth understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, labor productivity, and material costs.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Prior hands-on field experience as a Journeyman, Foreman, or field supervisor.
• Experience estimating projects in active industrial, manufacturing, food & beverage, process facilities, or water/wastewater environments.
