Thermoplastics Molding Setup & Optimization Technician

• Reduce cycle times and stabilize processes to deliver quality parts on schedule.
• Bridge Operations and Engineering by executing trials for new molds and alternative materials.
• Protect uptime by tackling issues fast and maintaining equipment readiness.

• End-to-end injection molding tasks: set-up, start-up, shutdown, troubleshooting, maintenance, and workflow management.
• Execute the production plan, including timely mold and/or material changes; seek and implement cycle time reductions.
• Perform process troubleshooting; set tooling and material parameters; inspect parts; and make adjustments to ensure conformity and quality.
• Partner with Engineering on current/new molds for alternative material sampling and new product sampling.
• Complete and verify documentation: start-up and in-process product inspection sheets, process monitoring logs, and changeover checklists.
• Prepare auxiliary equipment before start-up: circulators, grinders, thermolators, hot runner controllers, material dryers, material loaders, etc.
• Support other tasks consistent with the role as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience setting up and operating injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including robots.
• Ability to diagnose process issues, perform minor repairs, manage quality, and sustain high machine uptime.
• Basic English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Proficiency with measuring instruments: micrometers, vernier calipers, Acu-Gauge.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Master Molder certification preferred.

• Potential exposure to radio frequencies that may be dangerous for individuals with a pacemaker—consult your doctor.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands/arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk/hear; taste/smell.
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 35 lbs.
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Pushing/pulling (assisted) up to 2 hrs/day (interruptive); lifting up to 35 lbs. up to 2 hrs/day (interruptive).
