ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Inspecting Evaluating workplace environments, programs, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with government safety regulations Designing Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to control or prevent risks to workers Training Providing initial new-hire safety training and follow-up, and demonstrating use of safety equipment Conducting investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine the cause and possible prevention Auditing Conducting audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations Reporting Preparing written reports of findings and creating and delivering safety-related reports and presentations COMPETENCY Safety Driven Meticulous Organization Skills Detail Orientation Analytical Skills SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None WORK ENVIRONMENT Position holder generally works in an office environment. Will be required to visit different office locations and job sites with varied environments based on the nature of business. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent (2 year degree preferred) Public speaking and/or adult education experience Proficient in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Must have a valid drivers license with no major violations Advanced abilities with Excel Comfortable using a computer for various tasks beyond general use 2+ years of Transportation Safety required OSHA 30 Construction/General Industry Certification (Must be able to attain within 150 days of employment) Must be able to obtain forklift certification and forklift trainer certification Verifiable experience and SME in DOT Regulations and compliance SALARY RANGE $55,000+ per annum, depending on experience TRAVEL REQUIRED This role will require travel between Atlanta, GA and Manchester, TN periodically throughout the month.
