Looking for a true SDET/Test Engineer , not a manual QA tester.
Selenium and Playwright are the primary technical requirements.
Candidate should have enough Java and React knowledge to effectively test and understand the application.
Must demonstrate practical use of AI tools in software testing and engineering workflows .
Strong autonomy and ownership are required; candidate will be expected to define and drive QA activities with limited direction.

Position Overview

Client is building a small team to support the migration of an end-of-life (EOL) application to a modern internal technology platform. The organization is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer (SDET) who combines strong software engineering skills with a quality-first mindset.

This role requires an experienced QA professional who can work independently, define testing strategies, validate complex business workflows, and collaborate closely with developers as requirements and features continue to evolve.

Required Qualifications

Senior-level experience as an SDET, Software Test Engineer, or QA Automation Engineer .
Strong testing mindset with proven experience validating complex workflows.
Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) .
Experience working as a hands-on automation engineer, not solely manual QA.
Working knowledge of Java sufficient to understand application functionality and develop automated tests.
Working knowledge of React applications and frontend testing concepts.
Hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright .
Experience creating and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to improve testing and engineering outcomes.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Other Qualifications

Experience with both Selenium and Playwright .
Experience supporting enterprise application modernization or migration projects.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
Experience partnering closely with software engineering teams during active development cycles.
