Looking for meaningful work where you can be a mentor, coach, and positive influence? Kindly Direct Care hires Direct Support Professionals to work one-to-one with adults with developmental disabilities throughout New Jersey.

Position Overview

This role is a strong fit for people who enjoy mentoring, teaching, coaching, recreation, community involvement, or helping another person become more independent. You do not need to think of yourself as a traditional “caregiver” to make an excellent DSP. The right candidate is dependable, encouraging, respectful, and able to build a consistent relationship.

What You May Do

·       Spend time in the community participating in recreation, exercise, errands, events, hobbies, volunteering, or other meaningful activities.

·       Coach daily living, social, communication, problem-solving, and independence skills.

·       Help an individual build routines, confidence, self-advocacy, and greater community connection.

·       Support progress toward individualized goals while respecting the person’s choices and preferences.

·       Provide companionship and model appropriate communication and relationships.

·       Assist with daily routines or other support needs depending on the assignment.

·       Maintain safety, follow individualized support instructions, and communicate concerns promptly.

·       Complete required documentation and maintain reliable attendance and communication.

Qualifications

·       Warm, reliable, patient, and able to build trust.

·       Strong communication skills and good judgment.

·       Interest or experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, human services, disability services, or caregiving is a plus.

·       Ability to complete required background checks, onboarding, and training.

·       Reliable transportation and driving credentials when required by an assignment.

Schedule & Compensation

Opportunities vary by location and may include afternoons, evenings, weekends, daytime, part-time, or full-time schedules. Pay varies by assignment and support needs. A recruiter will discuss current opportunities that fit your availability and location.
