Job Summary The Food Runner plays a key role in maintaining the flow of service between the kitchen and the front-of-house team, ensuring all food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and at the proper temperature. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and extensive menu knowledge to confidently describe each dish, including modifications, upon delivery. Food Runners contribute to smooth service flow by supporting timely service, maintaining presentation standards, and assisting with table maintenance throughout the dining experience. Key Responsibilities Deliver food promptly from the kitchen to guests, accurately identifying each dish and verifying order details and modifications Maintain clear and consistent communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service flow Verify each order for accuracy, completeness, and presentation prior to delivery Ensure all food is served at the appropriate temperature and in accordance with presentation standards Support table maintenance by assisting with clearing and resetting dishes and utensils as needed Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of service stations and expo areas throughout service Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with all health and safety regulations Proactively anticipate the needs of Servers, kitchen staff, and guests during service Complete assigned side work, opening duties, and closing duties as directed Qualifications Previous experience in a fine-dining or full-service restaurant environment preferred Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to follow verbal instructions provided in English and assist with guest needs or concerns Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment Ability to develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and modifications Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to remain standing and active for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts Ability to move throughout all areas of the restaurant, including dining rooms, kitchens, service stations, storage areas, and outdoor spaces as applicable Ability to frequently carry food trays, plateware, and other service-related items throughout the facility Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 85 pounds on occasion Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a busy restaurant environment Ability to safely navigate crowded dining and kitchen areas while carrying food and service items Ability to operate restaurant equipment and technology as required Ability to work in varying temperatures, crowded conditions, and a fast-paced environment We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
