The primary responsibilities of the Journeyman Electrician are to work directly with the Service Manager to coordinate electrical service work and jobs and ensure the most efficient use of time and resources. These responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and controlling resources to maximize productivity and meet our end goal, which is meeting or exceeding job expectations and budget targets. Along with these responsibilities, the Journeyman Electrician will assist on jobs as the Electrical Lead, while helping to ensure quality and proper training of Crew Leaders and Helpers. Consistently demonstrates proficiency in all essential duties.

Primary Duties:

• Attends and contributes to service planning or job coordination meetings upon request.
• Reports directly to the Service Manager and functions as an extension of that position.
• Attends on-site coordination meetings with customers and sales as needed to support electrical service work and job execution.
• Aid in the education and enforcement of company policy and procedures, including site safety concerns.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, plans, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of troubleshooting, repair, and installation of assigned equipment.
• Work directly with local Fire Marshals, Inspectors, and other officials to ensure all electrical service work is performed in accordance with applicable state and national codes.
• Stage and select materials based on information provided by sales, dispatch, or service management, as indicated on drawings or other written instruction, or as required to complete the job.
• Lay out and mark dimensions and reference points in work areas to determine actual locations of system components, as needed for service and repair work.
• Operate tools and equipment necessary to safely and efficiently complete assigned service tasks.
• Work directly with other Journeymen or crew leaders to ensure continuity of work when multiple disciplines are required.

Planning Activities:

• Work with apprentice to set goals for personal production based on job schedule and budget requirements.
• Review specific safety events for projects. Develop and utilize JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for all work performed and on a daily basis.
• Periodically reviews work plan to assure that all information, tools and materials required are present prior to beginning work.
• Work with Management to develop crew schedules and determine resource requirements to maintain maximum efficiency and production for each job.

Safety Activities:

• Understands, complies, and enforces JF Petroleum Group safety policies.
• Understands, complies, and enforces OSHA safety requirements.
• Participates in safety programs provided by employer.
• Considers work to be performed to identify potential safety hazards and either eliminates the hazard or reports the problem to the Department Manager for resolution prior to beginning work.
• Ensures the use of proper safety equipment at all times and by all employees under his or her direction.
• Reports accidents or injuries to management immediately. Aids in the investigation and documentation of job-related accidents.
• Develops and Utilizes JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for each day’s work.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Drivers license (current, unrestricted, and free of moving violations) and a state Electrical Journeyman license.
• Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
• Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day
