Senior Platform Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer needed to support a shared platform used by a large number of application teams. This role is focused on CI/CD pipelines, platform security, and hardened container images within an established agile engineering team.

This is a handson role. You'll be working directly with existing pipelines, container images, and security findings in a production environment.

What You'll Do

CI/CD & Developer Pipelines

• Improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines across many repositories
• Maintain reusable pipeline templates
• Increase pipeline reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Support Maven and NPM build standards

Security & Vulnerability Remediation

• Remediate CVEs using Trivy, Snyk, and AWS Inspector
• Maintain compliance with CIS benchmarks and DISA STIGs
• Coordinate remediation with application teams
• Document repeatable security patterns

Container & Image Management

• Maintain hardened Docker base images
• Manage images in ECR and Artifactory
• Implement image scanning and validation
• Support teams adopting approved base images

Platform & Infrastructure Support

• Build and maintain Terraform modules
• Manage AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, ECR, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3)
• Support PostgreSQL and Oracle PL/SQL environments

Modernization & Enablement

• Convert an existing test suite from Bash to TypeScript
• Reduce technical debt and improve observability
• Create internal documentation
• Provide guidance to developers
• Participate in oncall rotation and incident response

This Role Is Not

• A greenfield cloud build
• An application development role
• A purely architectural or advisory position

Required Experience

• 5+ years in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering
• Strong GitLab CI/CD and Docker experience
• Handson CVE remediation and security compliance experience
• Terraform and AWS experience
• Strong TypeScript proficiency
• Experience supporting platforms used by many developers
• Comfortable with oncall responsibilities
• Strong communication skills
