GCP Engineer

Role Overview: The GCP Engineer will develop and implement GCP solutions, including creation of Terraform IaC modules and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support scalable, secure cloud deployments. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement GCP solutions, including creation of Terraform IaC modules and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support scalable, secure cloud deployments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate the pros and cons of new GCP services, including marketplace tools, by executing proof of concepts (POCs) and producing recommendations.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across Vertex AI Notebooks, Big Query, PostgreSQL, SQL, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, Data prep, Data Fusion, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.
- Drive automation by integrating AI and MCP workflows to reduce manual intervention while ensuring compliance with approved operational processes.
- Work closely with the Security team, crafting Prisma RQL queries to proactively identify and remediate security gaps aligned with KeyBank security standards.
- Manage on call responsibilities and complete large volumes of Jira tickets (100+ requests), ensuring timely resolution of operational issues and user needs.
- Perform backup and restore operations to maintain data resilience and business continuity.
- Execute cost optimization initiatives across GCP, including cleanup of storage, Big Query Compression, and performance tuning, and VM resources(machine types, runtimes).
- Engage in office hours for users(python, data prep etc.), offering best practice guidance and hands on support for GCP.
