Fruitwood Care is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Field Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our community-based Adult Day Program. This leadership position is responsible for supervising multiple community groups within an assigned catchment area, ensuring high-quality participant services, staff accountability, regulatory compliance, and effective implementation of individualized support plans.

This role serves as the direct supervisor for Staff Leads and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assigned to their designated groups and works closely with the Program Manager to ensure safe, effective, and person-centered services are delivered throughout the community.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Staff Supervision
• • Provide direct oversight and support to multiple community-based program groups within an assigned catchment area.
  • Supervise Staff Leads and Direct Support Professionals assigned to those groups.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff through regular field observations and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Provide immediate guidance and problem-solving support during behavioral incidents or other situations requiring leadership.
  • Serve as the acting lead when coverage is needed due to planned or unplanned staff absences.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and competency development of new employees.
• Client Care & Program Oversight
• • Ensure participant supervision is maintained at all times and staffing ratios remain compliant based on each participant's authorized level of service.
  • Monitor program quality and ensure services are delivered in accordance with each participant's Individual Program Plan (IPP).
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each participant's goals, behavioral support strategies, medical considerations, and supervision needs.
  • Train and educate staff on participant-specific support plans and ensure consistent implementation in the field.
  • Observe participant progress and communicate recommendations to the Program Manager regarding staffing, programming, or additional supports.
• Behavioral Support
• • Provide coaching to staff on behavior management strategies, positive behavior supports, de-escalation techniques, proactive interventions, and skill-building approaches.
  • Model appropriate intervention techniques while maintaining participant dignity and safety.
  • Assist staff in identifying behavioral triggers and implementing individualized support strategies.
  • Promote consistency in behavioral programming across all assigned groups.
• Operations & Compliance
• • Conduct routine field visits to ensure quality assurance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor staff adherence to company policies, Regional Center requirements, and program procedures.
  • Assist with investigations, incident follow-up, corrective coaching, and implementation of action plans as directed.
  • Communicate operational concerns, staffing issues, participant needs, and recommendations directly to the Program Manager.
  • Supervise Staff Leads and Direct Support Professionals assigned to those groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an Adult Day Program, Community-Based Program, ABA setting, or related human services environment.
• Experience supervising and developing direct support staff.
• Strong understanding of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and person-centered services.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making abilities.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple staff, participants, and community locations simultaneously.
• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), ABA experience, or related behavioral health training.
• CPI or other crisis intervention certification.
• Experience working with Regional Center-funded services.
• Bilingual in Vietnamese and English is a plus.
