Physical Therapist Inpatient Rehabilitation

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist (PT) in Inpatient Rehabilitation provides specialized therapy services to patients recovering from illness or injury within an inpatient rehab and LTACH/ICU setting. The PT is responsible for evaluating patients, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. This role requires at least one year of experience, appropriate licensure, and certifications, with a focus on delivering skilled rehabilitation care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patient mobility, strength, and function.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately using Epic charting system.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding therapy goals and home exercise programs.
• Assist with equipment setup and ensure a safe therapeutic environment.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice or compact PT license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience, preferably in inpatient rehab or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically Epic.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in LTACH, ICU, or inpatient rehabilitation environments.
• Additional certifications relevant to rehabilitation therapy.
• Familiarity with trauma or teaching hospital settings.

Special Considerations:

• Two weekend shifts per month are required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Time off requests are approved individually upon offer and must be included in the initial submission.
• Facility includes a 10-bed LTACH/ICU and a 46-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
• Parking is free and scrub color is flexible.

Scheduling:

• Shift options include 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, or 4 days per week, 10 hours per day.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
• Locals are not accepted; candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
