Senior Mechanical Designer

OverviewLutron has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Designer at our Global Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA. In this position, you would be a key part of the Engineering team. A successful Mechanical Designer candidate will have a desire to work in a team environment on support of existing products and/or new product designs. ResponsibilitiesModeling of custom mechanical parts, assemblies, and tools in CreoPerform hands-on tasks such prototype building and validation testingPrototype and implement design tweaks to improve design quality and facilitate easier assemblySource prototype components using our 3D printers, from our in-house machine shop or nearby vendorsSupport documentation and part specification for existing and new productsPart verification and documentation of assembly tolerance stack analysisMulti task at a high level; manage multiple projects and priorities in parallelWork with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to gain consensus on part changes Stay aligned to Lutron’s culture and valuesBe passionateBe flexible and adaptable to changing marketsBe an innovative thinkerBe customer focusedBe ethical QualificationsAssociates degree or Bachelors degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field requiredMinimum cumulative 3.00 GPA requiredMinimum 2 years of experience with product design and development requiredComputer skills required: General (MS Word and Excel), Pro/E - Creo proficiencyAdvanced Excel skills are a plus.
