Summary Oracle Database Administrator, Senior As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator at APS, you play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the databases that support essential business operations. By designing, maintaining, and optimizing complex Oracle database environments, you help keep critical systems running efficiently and securely. Your expertise supports the technology infrastructure that enables APS to deliver safe, reliable energy service to customers and communities across Arizona. What Your Day Would Be Like: Design, build, and maintain Oracle database environments that support critical business applications and operations. Monitor database performance, reliability, and security while identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement. Partner with infrastructure, application, and project teams to implement scalable database solutions that meet business needs. Support operational activities and troubleshoot complex database issues in a distributed server environment. Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to help ensure the availability and stability of critical database systems. Leverage Oracle Exadata technologies to enhance performance, resiliency, and operational efficiency. Who We're Looking For: Experience administering and supporting Oracle database environments in complex enterprise settings. Strong knowledge of Oracle database technologies, including design, performance tuning, maintenance, backup, and recovery. Experience working with Oracle Exadata platforms and supporting high-availability environments. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective, long-term solutions. Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams. Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a commitment to reliability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Minimum Requirements Oracle Database Administrator, Senior Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field PLUS seven (7) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. Requires in-depth level of technical knowledge within a job area and working knowledge of other technical areas Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications: Knowledge of physical data models, technical architecture, system interfaces, etc. Ability to develop and write technical documentation; model and design relational databases. Proficient in install and supporting relational database management systems (RDMS); demonstrated continuous ability to improve operations and streamline work processes.
