Radiation Therapist - Full Time

OVERVIEWThe Radiation Therapist provides professional duties involved with a variety of technical procedures prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist for the safe delivery of radiation therapy treatments and care to patients.Schedule: 32 hours/weekShift: DaysLocation: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville, WIPay Range: $38.80/hr - $60.14/hrESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPossesses core knowledge of required Radiation Therapist functions, including scheduling, simulation, patient set-up, and treatment.Demonstrates a functional knowledge of all major components of department equipment.Delivers external beam treatments in an accurate and timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy.Assesses and addresses patient's needs while under treatment.Practices appropriate Radiation Safety procedures.Accurate and timely completion of patient charts according to established standards and procedures.Demonstrates knowledge of standard and advanced treatment calculations and treatment plans.Designs and fabricates blocks accurately and efficiently.Performs Simulation with a high degree of accuracy in a timely fashion with little or no supervision.Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers as required per position.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited radiation therapy programExperience as a radiation therapist preferredCERTIFICATION/LICENSUREARRT registration in radiation therapy required (or eligible upon hire and attain within one year)Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 daysOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.Good interpretive/analytical skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to perform multiple functions with minimal direction, independent of supervisionComplex problem solvingLEVEL OF SUPERVISIONPerforms routine duties independent of supervision, but consults with the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, Medical Dosimetrist and Radiation Oncology Supervisor/Manager/Director as required.SUPERVISESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.PAY RANGE:$38.80 - $60.14Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
