CO RESPONDER LICENSED CLINICIAN JOB SUMMARY : The Co-Responder Program is a collaborative partnership between Claratel Behavioral Health and the local law enforcement to provide immediate, community based behavioral health crisis response. The Co-Responder License Clinician responds alongside trained Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officers to assess, stabilize, and connect individuals experiencing behavioral crisis to appropriate level of care. This position plays a critical role in reducing unnecessary hospitalization and incarceration by providing real-time clinical decision-making in the field. This role is ideal for independently licensed clinicians who are confident in crisis assessment, thrive in dynamics, environments, and are committed to community-based intervention. Clinical supervision and program leadership support are embedded within the program structure, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides on-scene crisis assessment, mental status evaluation, and brief therapeutic intervention in community settings Conduct suicide and violence risk assessments and determine appropriate disposition, including coordination of involuntary admissions (1013/2013) when clinically indicated Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches to stabilize individuals in high-stress situations Collaborate directly with CIT-trained officers to ensure coordinated and safe crisis response Facilitate linkage to outpatient services, crisis stabilization unit, and other community supports Exercise independent clinical judgement in fast-paced and unpredictable environments Participate in case consultation, team meetings, and cross-system collaboration to strengthen program outcomes Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and state standards, Engage in homeless outreach, community engagement, and engagement with community/law enforcement partners Make follow-up wellness calls and visits with clients in the community. Alway exhibits clear and professional communication with individuals, families/significant others, staff, and public safety officers. Participate in rotating on-call schedule to provide telephonic support to officers in the field. Performs duties from a recovery oriented, client centered, and trauma informed perspective. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in specialized training. Required Qualifications : Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field Active Georgia License (LPC, LCSW) Crisis intervention experience At least two years of mental health / substance use disorder experience in assessment and stabilization. Knowledgeable about signs and symptoms of withdrawal and acute psychosis. Preferred Qualifications: Co-responder or CIT experience ACT or Crisis stabilization experienceExperience working with law enforcement NEEDED ATTRIBUTES Strong clinical decision-making skills in high-pressure environments Ability to remain calm, grounded and clinically focused during crisis situations Professional communication skills across system, including law enforcement and community partners Commitment to ethical practice and confidentiality WORKING CONDITIONS This position operates primarily in the community alongside trained law enforcement partners. Clinicians are supported by established safety protocols and structured collaboration models. Hours: Monday to Friday 8:15am to 5pm Pre-employment drug screening may be required.
