Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification for a diagnostic cardiac cath lab.

Details

• Diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting with 3 rooms and 5 beds
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Average daily census of 8-10 patients
• Procedures include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants (no EP studies or ablations)
• Uses GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment
• Epic required for charting, Pyxis and SBAR used, Merge preferred
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• May float within department and facility, including to sister campus
• Call requirements of 12-15 days per month plus 2 weekends (Sat/Sun) with late stay as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience scrubbing heart caths and devices required
• BLS and ACLS required
• RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification required
• Pacemaker experience preferred
• Experience with EKG settings, obtaining vitals, and rhythm interpretation including sinus node rhythms required
• Epic experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, EKG lead placement, room circulating, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
• Preferred skills include angioplasty, stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and central venous access
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required as follows: 1-2 major holidays in assignment period must be worked, if 3 major holidays occur travelers work 2 of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position
• Returning employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before reapplying as a traveler
