Mechanic III

Get ready to keep our hospital running. As a Mechanic III for HCA Houston Healthcare West, you’ll be responsible for daily maintenance of facilities and equipment while ensuring safety and building codes are met. Responsibilities Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment, exhaust systems, and building automation systems. Plan, coordinate, and carry out minor alterations and construction that do not require city or state permits. Maintain and repair grounds and related infrastructure. Test and operate the emergency power system and fire pump. Assist the Plant Director with fire alarm and sprinkler testing schedules. Support other stationary engineers as required. Schedule vendors for preventive maintenance and testing of equipment as required by code. Adhere to The Joint Commission, NFPA, TAC, and Houston city codes. Respond to code calls (Red, Pink, and Gray). Qualifications 3 years in a healthcare maintenance setting or 5 years in a commercial building with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building automation, and customer‑service skills. Strong knowledge of emergency generators and fire code. Technical school required, no prior experience required, and High School Diploma or GED.
