Job Overview This position is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope by setting adequate standards and governance. The position will oversee all aspects of projects including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring and summarizing progress, and preparing status reports for upper management. Responsibilities Validate the technical and CAPEX budget assumptions as put together by the Business Development team during due diligence for acquisition or project evaluation, ensuring compliance with company standards. Review company deliverables and confirm that conceptual design, front‑end engineering, and detailed engineering studies are achievable within the set timeline. Validate project budget estimates for CAPEX/OPEX for the annual company budget process. Control the set‑up of the Project Construction Management Team. Prepare and review equipment specifications and RFQs. Ensure project roll‑out according to agreed specifications, cost and delivery lead time. Oversee selection of strategic process, construction, or EPC/design suppliers. Validate project cost and delivery schedules before construction begins. Maintain project management controls (SHE, QA, budget, schedule, commissioning, and startup programs) throughout development, including weekly and monthly reporting at regional and global levels. Oversee asset startup and handover to the operations team. Validate the annual Capex/Opex budgets during the annual budget and reforecast processes. Select and develop relationships with strategic partners. Develop or enhance reports, templates, and procedures for project controls. Track industry and project engineering best practices. Contribute to developing LDC industrial standards for process design, standard components, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Help support and develop global systems to consistently estimate and execute large capital projects. Review discretionary Capex processes, propose revisions, and fill gaps where necessary. Consolidate and maintain the project management system, documenting each step of the project. Establish Capex classification based on size/risk and propose governance for each case. Ensure projects meet specified results, quality standards, timelines, and budget parameters. Serve as a primary interface for engineering technical issues with operations. Provide problem‑solving and troubleshooting support as requested by plants. Conduct feasibility studies for oilseed processing, refining, packaging, grain, milling, and biofuels facilities. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications BA/BS degree in Mechanical, Civil, Agricultural, or Chemical Engineering. 10+ years of industrial senior project management/engineering experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Familiarity with oilseed processing, edible oils, grain, milling operations, or biofuels. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. Exposure to plant operations, maintenance, and safety. Knowledge of design codes and regulatory requirements (NFPA 36, OSHA, EPA). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills. Excellent organizational and planning capabilities; ability to manage multiple assignments. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Team‑player attitude with ability to work in a multicultural environment. Strong quantitative and analytical abilities. High sense of urgency. Financial analysis skills. Procurement/contract negotiation skills. Tolerance for ambiguity. Comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels. Additional Information Equipment Used Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, PDA, fax machine. Working Conditions Work is performed in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail and multiple priorities. Domestic travel is required as assigned. Periodic visits to industrial operations areas are necessary, with exposure to a variety of temperatures and weather conditions. Regular exposure to gases, vapors, dust, and odors, and occasional exposure to wet floors and high‑volume noise during plant visits. Some stair climbing is required. Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time‑sensitive projects or respond to emergencies. Employee Supervision Regional Project Managers will direct line report to this position and indirectly manage site Project Managers. The major project managers employed at sites will dotted‑line report to this position. Decision Making & Accountability Able to work unsupervised and make critical decisions on project and plant process management with direct implications to budgets and profitability. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment across multiple management levels to recommend capital projects and process improvements.
