A Direct Support Professional (DSP) working for a PRN (as needed) staffing agency typically performs the following tasks:
1. Personal Assistance: Help individuals with disabilities or special needs with daily living activities, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and eating.
2. Medication Management: Assist clients with medication reminders and ensure they take their medications as prescribed.
3. Behavioral Support: Implement behavior support plans and strategies designed to address challenging behaviors and promote positive interactions.
4. Communication Facilitation: Assist individuals in communicating their needs and preferences, ensuring their voice is heard and respected.
5. Skill Development: Help clients develop life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and social skills, to promote independence.
6. Transportation: Provide transportation to appointments, community activities, or social events, ensuring safety and accessibility.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health, ensuring confidentiality.
