About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to assist with a payroll tax cleanup project involving the review and amendment of historical payroll tax filings. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and payroll tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Review historical payroll and tax records
• Research payroll tax requirements and employee classifications
• Prepare payroll tax corrections and supporting documentation
• Reconcile payroll tax accounts and identify discrepancies
• Assist with amended federal and state payroll tax filings
• Respond to payroll tax notices and inquiries as needed
• Document processes and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience with exposure to payroll taxes
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
• Experience with payroll tax reconciliations
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Experience with ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar payroll systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred

• Experience preparing amended payroll tax returns
• Experience resolving payroll tax notices
• CPP certification is a plus
