REGISTERED NURSE

Walton Academy for Growth and Change – RN One location: DeFuniak Springs, FL (approximately 35 miles from the Northwest Florida Panhandle). This 42‑bed residential treatment facility focuses on mental health and substance abuse. Responsibilities Order and administer medications per provider’s orders. Transcribe provider’s orders in the medical record to the medication administration records. Accurate and prompt documentation in the health record. Obtain vital signs and BMI, perform basic vision exam, and administer IM injections. Collect specimens and prepare for lab courier. Assist chronic care clinic (diabetes, asthma, obesity); manage daily sick‑call and adhere to nursing protocols. Educate students about their health. Maintain a clean and tidy workspace. Collaborate with peers to meet departmental and campus needs. Monitor medical supply inventory and report when ordering is needed. Assist with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts. Qualifications Degree and current Registered Nursing Credential from the state of Florida. Minimum of two years of medical services administration experience, including operating and securing comprehensive health services programs. Empathetic, patient, and respectful of others. Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, TB test, and DJJ and DCF background checks. At least 21 years of age.
