DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and service-oriented Houseman to join a private household team in San Francisco. This is a dynamic full-time role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining an exceptional home, and understands that household service is built on attention to detail, teamwork, and anticipating needs before they arise. The Houseman plays an essential role in the daily operation of the residence, helping maintain every aspect of the property from kitchens and interior living spaces to exterior areas, storage, event preparation, and vehicle care. The ideal candidate enjoys physical, hands-on work, takes initiative, communicates professionally, and understands the discretion required in a private household.

Core Responsibilities —

• Maintains the cleanliness and presentation of the primary residence to the highest standards. 
• Washes, dries, and properly stores dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment. 
• Cleans kitchen surfaces including stainless steel, stoves, grills, hoods, cabinetry, and appliances during daily use and following events. 
• Vacuums, mops, and maintains floors throughout assigned interior areas. 
• Sweeps entrances, driveways, walkways, and service areas while maintaining patios, balconies, decks, rooftops, gutters, windows, and doors. 
• Empties trash and recycling, breaks down boxes, cleans waste containers, and prepares bins for collection. 
• Cleans vehicle interiors and exteriors, refuels when needed, and moves vehicles for street sweeping. 
• Completes household errands including postal services, grocery and supply runs, deliveries, and transportation of household items. 

Operational Involvement —

The Houseman anchors daily household logistics and event execution by:

• Reporting property maintenance concerns promptly to management. 
• Maintaining organized storage rooms, work areas, and break spaces. 
• Assisting with special deep-cleaning, organizational projects, and resetting the home after events. 
• Safely moving furniture and other large items throughout the residence. 
• Collaborating closely with the household team and assisting with additional projects assigned by management. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience working in a private residence, luxury hospitality environment, estate, or similar service-focused setting preferred, but not required . 
• Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment where daily needs may change. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a household team. 
• Physically able to lift, move, and transport household furnishings and supplies safely. 
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. 
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality.

• Hourly pay rate of $35–$50/hr, depending on experience.
