Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on established standards; collaborate with other health professionals to achieve quality, cost-effective, and efficient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for the care team; provide patient/family education and apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in care delivery.
- Maintain patient safety and quality of care across the continuum; document actions and communicate findings to the care team.
- Supervise unit secretaries and patient care technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.

Requirements
- Current Alaska license in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution.
- Preferred one year of healthcare experience as an RN.
- Ability to practice nursing in line with Alaska statutes and to work in a hospital setting; capable of independent action within prescribed limits.
- Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations from birth to elderly.
