Job Title Blending Batch Operator Location Naugatuck, CT, US Hiring Information Requisition ID: 1009 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Company Overview Culture Fresh Foods, Inc is a Dairy and Non-Dairy processing facility headquartered in Naugatuck, CT. The facility produces a wide range of dairy and plant-based spoonable and spreadable cultured and ESL (extended shelf life) products for private label, co-pack and under its own brand. Position Summary The Blending Batch Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating blending and associated processing equipment in accordance with production schedules, quality assurance specifications, and food safety standards. This position ensures accurate batching, proper flow to homogenizing and pasteurization systems, and compliance with all regulatory and internal sanitation protocols. The position is managed and directly reports to the Production Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate blending equipment in accordance with productivity, quality, and safety standards. Assemble and disassemble equipment for proper cleaning and sanitization according to manufacturer guidelines. Monitor and control blending weights, speeds, temperatures, pressures, and product flow. Adhere to established testing procedures and submit required samples to laboratory for appraisal prior to all finished products being packaged. Monitor and control the flow of product from processing to homogenizing and the pasteurization unit. Monitor and control the flow of products via the HTST (High-Temperature Short-Time) systems. Operate the CIP (clean-in-place) system for tanks, pipelines, and blending equipment. Perform basic housekeeping to include clean floors, walls, ceiling, air vents, lights, etc., of the plant, equipment, and exterior of all equipment. Accurately complete all required production and quality documentation. Perform any other tasks assigned by Production Supervisor. SQF Requirements Maintain good safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner. Required to wear food safety and sanitation clothing and PPE. Conformance to personal hygiene regulations. Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Ensure all programs are being upheld and documentation is current. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 3-6 months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions. Proficient in completing simple written correspondence and manufacturing documentation. Effective communication skills, including the ability to clearly present information to team members. Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate rates and interpret basic data formats (e.g., bar graphs). Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to follow instructions in various formats. Able to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Team‑oriented with the ability to maintain positive working relationships. Demonstrates professional conduct, reliability, and a respectful attitude. Ability to organize work. Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. Must pass a company pre‑employment background, physical, and drug screen prior to commencing work. Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, use hands, stretch, and reach with hands and arms; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; occasionally climb or balance and smell. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specifically requires close vision and full range of body motion. Exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and wet/humid conditions with a risk of electrical shock. Must use all personal protective equipment provided by the Company in compliance with OSHA regulations and obey all safety rules. Working Environment Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and wet/humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. Required to use all PPE in compliance with OSHA regulations.
