APPOINTMENT

This position is appointed by the Governor in accordance with the provisions of Sections 3-1 and 5-198 (10) and (18) of the Connecticut General Statutes. Position Details In‑office First shift Location: Hartford, CT The Role As the Senior Advisor, you will plan and execute public events, draft memoranda, and attend events with the Lieutenant Governor. You will also develop legislative proposals for the Lieutenant Governor and work with the legislature and key stakeholders to advance these proposals. Responsibilities Plan, manage, staff, and execute public events hosted by the Lieutenant Governor. Draft memos for events and meetings attended by the Lieutenant Governor. Develop legislative proposals for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Monitor legislative proposals and provide updates to ensure the Lieutenant Governor and staff are fully informed. Partner with the Governor’s Office and state agencies to align administrative goals and coordinate legislative initiatives. Purpose of Job Class (Nature of Work) In the Office of the Governor or Lieutenant Governor this class serves as an assistant in a wide variety of administrative, staff, or liaison functions. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Connecticut state government. Prior experience in the Connecticut General Assembly or a state agency. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Acumen and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information. A bachelor’s degree.
