Airport Janitorial Operations Manager

Schedule: Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate

We are seeking an experienced Airport Janitorial Operations Manager to lead a large, fast-paced airport cleaning operation.

This is not an entry-level management position. We are looking for someone who understands the unique demands of an airport environment, including 24/7 operations, security requirements, high passenger volumes, changing flight schedules, customer service expectations, and the need to maintain consistently high cleaning standards every day.

The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who can manage supervisors and frontline employees, solve problems quickly, hold people accountable, and build a team that takes pride in delivering an exceptional passenger experience.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

You will oversee the day-to-day janitorial operation, including staffing, scheduling, supervision, quality control, safety, equipment, training, productivity, and customer communication.

You will work closely with airport representatives and company leadership to ensure contractual requirements are consistently met or exceeded.

You will be expected to identify problems before they become customer complaints, develop supervisors into stronger leaders, improve employee performance, and maintain a professional, dependable operation across all assigned areas.

What We’re Looking For:

Prior management experience in an airport or aviation environment is required.

Candidates should also have:

• Proven experience managing a large janitorial, custodial, facility services, or similar frontline workforce
• Experience managing supervisors and multiple shifts
• Strong understanding of quality inspections, staffing, scheduling, safety, and performance management
• Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Experience holding employees accountable while building a positive team culture
• Ability to use basic computer systems, inspection software, email, and reporting tools
• Ability to obtain and maintain required airport security credentials

The Person We Want:

We are looking for a manager who gets out into the operation.

You should be comfortable walking the facility, talking with employees, inspecting work, coaching supervisors, meeting with the customer, and personally following up when something isn't right.

The right person understands that a clean airport is more than a janitorial responsibility. It directly affects the passenger experience and the reputation of the airport.
