We are seeking a dependable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves both clinical and front desk responsibilities, supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience. Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves both clinical and front desk responsibilities, supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Take and record patient vitals, including blood pressure
- Prepare and label specimens for testing, processing, and storage
- Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms
- Enter clinical data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Obtain diagnostic reports and hospital notes; generate after-visit summaries
- Register patients in the EMR system, verify insurance eligibility, and obtain necessary pre-authorizations
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Perform check-in, check-out, referrals, and follow-up appointment scheduling
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Coordinator, or in a related healthcare role
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Experience in direct patient care and in a fast-paced primary care clinic strongly preferred
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred
