This position is located in the Dietary Department of the Northwest LA Veterans Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. No experience or training is required. Job Duties: Prepares salads; cuts desserts; makes tea, jello, and sandwiches; and fills salt and peppershakers prior to mealtime. Washes, chops, and cuts vegetables; opens cans and assists food preparation specialists in preparing foods prior to cooking. Measures and assembles ingredients. Washes dishes and pots. Performs duties that involve the cleaning and sanitation of the food service area. Prepares trays and special formulas for special diets. Gathers materials necessary for dough making. Assists in mixing, kneading, and preparing breads, rolls, biscuits, cakes, etc. Position-Specific Details: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Food Service Specialist 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
