Job Overview

Duties

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and acute care cases.
• Provide hands-on therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and physical therapy modalities to promote healing and pain relief.
• Monitor patient progress, document treatment responses, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist to refine care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, and discharge planning to support continued recovery at home or in outpatient settings.
• Perform patient care activities including assisting with mobility exercises, transfers, and functional training within inpatient or outpatient environments.
• Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
• Support discharge planning efforts by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions between care settings.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with current licensure or registration as required by state law.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices.
• Hands-on experience with physical therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients recovering from surgery or injury.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams involved in discharge planning and patient care coordination.
