Location: Lester Prairie High School Starting Date: 2026-2027 School Year Salary Range: $4,458 - $6,023 Reports To: Activities Director

Description:

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of the 7-12 Girls Basketball program by focusing on building a positive culture and developing quality relationships with student-athletes and parents
• Implement an effective training and competition program that maximizes student-athlete performance in the sport, including strength training
• Provide direction and evaluation for assistant coaches in the program to ensure continuity through all levels
• Communicate effectively with all program stakeholders to ensure a positive, quality experience is provided for our student-athletes
• Manage equipment inventory and budget for program
• Perform other duties as outlined by the Activities Director, MSHSL, Coaches Handbook, and Section Tournament Administrators

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota coaching certification or meets acceptable criteria for non-licensed coach
• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
• Prefer previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
• The Head Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
• Works collaboratively with students, parents, and other members of the community
• Effective interpersonal interactions and communication skills as applied to interaction with both youth and adults
• Skilled in team building, decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution
• Ability to serve as an effective role model for student-athletes and represent Lester Prairie Schools with respect in all communities
• Experience with Why We Play' and "Positive Coaching Alliance" seminar/coaches training preferred
