Most people have never heard of allulose. Jaca is building the consumer health brand that intends to change that.

Jaca is a consumer health and wellbeing food and beverage company built around allulose, a rare sugar found naturally in foods including figs, kiwi and jackfruit. It provides all of the taste and functional characteristics associated with conventional sugar, with significantly fewer calories.

Jaca sells today through JacaSugar.com and Amazon with repeat purchasing, while its B2B business is already in market with wholesale, co-brand and food service relationships. The company also has a signed distribution agreement covering 1,500 territories, has 4 patents for protection surrounding its manufacturing approach, and has secured a $1M lead investment in its Series A.

Jaca is now entering its next commercial stage and is looking to engage senior healthcare and business leaders who can contribute across consumer health, nutrition, partnerships and market expansion.

This opportunity is designed for experienced healthcare executives, physicians, practice owners, founders and operators who understand how health-focused businesses scale and how consumer behaviour, trust and commercial execution intersect.

Participants will work in strategic alignment with Founder and President Pete Ferrari and the wider leadership team, contributing senior-level perspective, relevant relationships and practical experience.

Jacas ambition is to become the category defining consumer brand in allulose.

Awareness of allulose remains relatively early (only 13% awareness according to IFIC) while consumer interest in reducing conventional sugar continues to grow (77% of Americans trying to reduce sugar intake). Jaca believes this creates an opportunity for a company that combines product quality with education, trust, distribution and a broader health and wellbeing platform.

The company is building beyond the ingredient itself through consumer education, health and wellbeing content, media, community initiatives and the Foundation for Nutritional Equality nonprofit.

Jaca also has an experienced advisory board spanning consumer brands, grocery, retail, distribution, food science and finance, including backgrounds from Coca Cola, Walmart, UNFI, Ocean Spray and JP Morgan.

Jaca is also personal. Petes father was killed when he was 10 years old, and he experienced significant nutritional insecurity during childhood. Those experiences helped shape his belief that access to better nutrition should not depend entirely on income, background or circumstance.

In September 2026, Pete spoke at TEDxArkansasStateUniversity, where his talk, Nutrition is Destiny - Beware the False Prophets, explored nutrition and food systems.

Consumer interest in reducing sugar remains significant while awareness of allulose is still developing.

Jaca is moving from early commercial validation into a broader scaling phase, focused on consumer awareness, distribution, B2B growth and expansion of its product portfolio.

This next stage requires credible voices, healthcare perspectives and strong relationships across the health and business ecosystem.

This is an equity-based position aligned with ownership participation in the company. Healthcare Business Executive participation is structured for individuals who believe strategic contribution and ownership alignment should operate together, establishing skin in the game with Jaca to ensure an upfront mutual commitment to the companys long-term growth.

This is not a cash-compensated position.

We are seeking individuals with 10+ years of senior leadership, medical, operating, entrepreneurial or investment experience.

Relevant backgrounds may include physicians, specialist doctors, practice owners, healthcare CEOs and Presidents, Chief Medical Officers, healthcare founders, COOs, CFOs, Managing Partners, senior healthcare operators, consumer health executives, Partners, EVPs and SVPs.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have built, operated, scaled or invested in businesses and can contribute practical experience during Jacas next phase of growth.
