Job Position Warehouse Receiving Clerk

Location Salt Lake Citym, UT

Pay Rate $18.00/hr

Shift AM Shift 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Receiving Clerk to support daily receiving operations at a Salt Lake City warehouse. This position will be responsible for receiving incoming orders at the dock, verifying shipments for accuracy and condition, completing required documentation, and ensuring all receipts are accurately recorded in the companys system.
The ideal candidate is comfortable learning new technology, follows established procedures, and understands the importance of accurate receiving information to ensure customers are notified and orders move through the fulfillment process efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Receive incoming shipments and orders at the warehouse dock.
Verify received products against purchase orders, packing slips, and other accompanying paperwork.
Check quantities, item numbers, descriptions, and other shipment details for accuracy.
Inspect incoming goods for visible damage, shortages, overages, or discrepancies.
Take clear photographs of damaged goods when necessary and document issues according to company procedures.
Ensure all receiving paperwork is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
Enter and update receiving information accurately in Shipicas current in-house system.
Learn and utilize ShipHero as the company transitions to the new warehouse management system.
Ensure received orders are properly marked and updated in the system so customers can be notified of their order status.
Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to receiving, documentation, inventory, and damaged merchandise.
Communicate discrepancies, damaged products, missing items, or other receiving issues to the appropriate team members.
Maintain organized receiving records and paperwork.
Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure received inventory is processed accurately and efficiently.
Perform other warehouse and receiving-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous receiving, warehouse, inventory, shipping, or logistics experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Comfortable working with computers and learning new software systems.
Ability to learn and follow established SOPs and procedures.
Ability to accurately compare physical products with paperwork and system information.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to identify and properly document damaged or incorrect shipments.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with the warehouse team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
Ability to work in a warehouse and receiving dock environment.
Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the receiving area.
Ability to lift and move packages or materials as required by the position.
Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
