Equipment Operator

Location: Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Fort Worth, TX. Position: Equipment Operator – Golf Course Maintenance Department. The Equipment Operator, under the supervision of the Director of Agronomy, performs all aspects of golf course maintenance, and will be a key component to the success of the golf course construction and growth. Key Responsibilities Operate all types of turfgrass management equipment including utility vehicles, reel and rotary movers, flymos, mechanical bunker rakes, aerifiers, sprayers, turf vacs, skid steers, and sprayers. Mow greens, tees, fairways and rough with walk and riding mowers. Perform hand trimming and detail work on various areas of the golf course. Perform renovations and construction work, i.e., shoveling and raking. Perform cleaning procedures and manual labor tasks. Excavate and backfill ditches and trenches with hand tools. Lay and hand water sod, install plant material and mulch. Participate in annual over‐seeding of the golf course. Assist in construction of new greens, tees and fairways. Clean drains and culverts. Sweep cart paths. Cultivate and water trees and plants. Perform other related groundwork as required. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License. Prior experience working on a golf course maintenance team is preferred. Knowledge of large and small engine operation. Knowledge of hydraulic powered machine operation. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
