Clinical Nurse Coordinator Operating Room

Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) operating room, you influence patient care through collaboration with management, hospital councils, and national nursing initiatives. You ensure and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care and coordinate all functions in the unit during the designated shift. In partnership with the management team, you direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serve as a resource for staff, and model the organization’s vision, mission, and values. Responsibilities Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit. Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create a team environment that supports improved outcomes and service. Support a patient‑first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary. Support operationalization of nursing strategies, including employee and hourly rounds, and other engagement initiatives. Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement actions such as training, development, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Associate Degree in nursing. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
