GM Service Advisor

Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable, customer-focused professional to join our team in a service advisory role supporting automotive service operations. In this position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for guests seeking vehicle maintenance and repairs, helping to ensure a smooth, transparent, and positive service experience from check-in to vehicle pickup. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, builds trust with customers, and works effectively with service technicians and internal team members to coordinate timely, accurate, and high-quality repairs. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems, and delivering exceptional customer care. Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally, listen to concerns, and document vehicle service needs accurately. Prepare repair orders, estimate labor and parts requirements, and communicate recommended services clearly. Coordinate with technicians to review diagnoses, repair timelines, and completion status. Keep customers informed throughout the service process regarding approvals, updates, delays, and completion times. Explain completed repairs, maintenance recommendations, and invoice details in a clear and courteous manner. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, vehicle history, repair authorizations, and follow-up needs. Support scheduling, appointment management, and workflow coordination within the service department. Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approach. Work closely with parts and service teams to help ensure timely ordering and delivery of needed components. Follow all company policies, safety practices, and service standards to support a high-quality customer experience. Qualifications Previous experience in automotive service advising, customer service, or a related client-facing role preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical information in simple terms. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfort using computer systems, scheduling tools, and service management software. Professional demeanor with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle concerns with tact and professionalism. Valid driver’s license may be required depending on business needs. Preferred Attributes Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair processes. Experience working in a dealership or service department environment. Familiarity with warranty procedures and repair order management.
