Remote Specialty Pharmacist - Oncology & Clinical Care

Location:Remote PositionPay Range:$92,206.40 - $191,505.60Preference Will Be Given to Candidates Based In California or Nearby StatesPosition SummaryThe Specialty Clinical Pharmacist provides flexible, as-needed clinical and operational support for the AON in‑house pharmacy and across the AON network. This role assists the Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager, Regional Clinical Pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership with project-based work, clinical reviews, formulary and EMR updates, transitions of care, and short-term coverage needs. The pharmacist contributes to the execution of clinical initiatives, supports quality and safety standards, and ensures continuity of pharmacy operations across the network. This role includes, but is not limited to, prescription verification, patient counselling, team support, and provider consultation.Key Performance AreasKPA 1 - Order/Rx verificationComply with all Federal and State laws regarding filling and dispensing prescriptions.Verify and ensure all prescriptions processed are true and correct.Comply with all FDA Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) program requirements.Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, dosing accuracy, drug interactions, regulatory compliance while maintaining turnaround time expectations and minimizing dispensing errors.KPA 2 – Patient Care & Clinical ReviewProvide evidence-based recommendations to providersAssist with prior authorization support and formulary initiativesReview medical records to ensure accurate, timely and compliant verification of medication order and prescription support.KPA 3 - Customer ServiceProvides exceptional customer service to patients, staff, fellow employees and third-party payers: interacts in a professional manner with all contacts to promote effective exchanges of information.KPA 4 – Adherence & CounselingUtilize the company's adherence program to counsel patients on the use of their medications, including appropriate lab/patient follow-up to improve adherence.Conduct patient counseling as required by implemented pharmacy programs and answer patient questions regarding therapy.Provide consultation regarding new patient education, adverse event management, drug interactions, and oncology/specialty medication questionsKPA 5 – Training, Education & Compliance:Maintain quality assurance and provide ongoing training to pharmacy staff as directed.Promoting a culture of learning, accountability, and continue growth based on pharmacy needs.Maintain all required REMS program licenses, trainings and/or other learnings.Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures as outlined by the company.KPA 6 – Operational SupportPerform additional clinical or operational duties as assigned to support safe and efficient patient care.Support all pharmacy process improvement initiatives and collaborate across teams to meet departmental and patient care needs.Provide and support the implementation of business solutions as implemented by the company.Position QualificationsEducationPharmD degree or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, required.Minimum Relevant ExperienceMinimum of two (2) years of retail pharmacy experience is preferred.Experience with EMR order set build, drug substitution/interchange protocols, and data analytics preferredCertifications/LicensesActive, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing.Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred but not requiredPGY1/PGY2 residency training preferred but not required.Travel: 0-25%#AONA#LI-REMOTE #J-18808-Ljbffr
