Under general supervision and working collaboratively with the Director of Student Affairs, the incumbent is responsible for providing academic advising to prospective and continuing undergraduate students (~600 undergraduate students) in the Shu Chien-Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering.

This position serves as the Intake and Senior Advisor for Undergraduate Student Affairs, working collaboratively with the Director of Student Affairs and the Teachings Programs Coordinator. The position has responsibility for and oversight of Student Outreach activities for undergraduates, which are critical to student training beyond the classroom including but not limited to: student organization events & activities, alumni and corporate sponsorship for student events, and financial and budget analysis.

The incumbent will provide back-up assistance for course administration, including scheduling. The incumbent will participate in on- and off-campus meetings and will work closely with the Director of Student Affairs, Department Chair, Department Vice-Chair, Chair of the Undergraduate Studies Committee (UGSC) and faculty committees on student affairs matters and programmatic issues.

Applies professional Student Services concepts. Provides varied student services to students, faculty, and department / school / college management. Works on moderately complex issues. Receives assistance on more complex issues.

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
