Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine clinician-educator to join our expanding division in Charleston, South Carolina. The chosen individual will play a crucial role in training future leaders in Maternal Fetal Medicine while improving access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and its neighboring areas.

About Our Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine

Our team consists of over 50 dedicated physicians and researchers specializing in Women's Health, providing exceptional care throughout the Lowcountry. We are proud to have received a national ranking of #16 for Obstetrics & Gynecology from U.S. News & World Report.
In 2021, we inaugurated the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion, a cutting-edge facility spanning 100,000 square feet with 250 beds, revolutionizing the delivery of care for women, children, and fetal health in the region. Complementing this outstanding clinical service is the Charles P. Darby Children's Research Institute, the largest pediatric research center in the Carolinas and one of only 15 of its kind nationwide.

Essential Qualifications

• Board Certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine

• Completion of a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine

• A strong academic focus, enthusiasm for teaching, and a commitment to outreach

• New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply

Position Highlights

• Engagement in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows

• Collaboration with a supportive team of 11 MFM physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff

• Clinic Schedule: Three full clinic days weekly, seeing approximately 15-25 patients per day, with either a half-day or full day allocated for administrative duties at the Prenatal Wellness Center or outreach clinics

• Call Schedule: One weekend day of backup call and 2-3 weekdays each month

• Inpatient Schedule: Four weeks annually, one week per quarter

• Travel across South Carolina to deliver Maternal Fetal Medicine services

• No research obligations required
