Registered Nurse (RN): Med/Surg Tele

This is an opportunity for a Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse to work in a fast-paced environment, providing quality healthcare to a diverse patient population.

Job Details:

• Department: Med/Surg 610
• Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Years of Experience: 2+
• Floating Requirements: May float to step down to care for med/surg patients as needed

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 & 6:1, with a high volume of admissions and discharges on day shifts
• Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP Drains, Hemovac Drains, Ostomy Care, NG Tubes, Tube Feeding, PEG Tubes
• EHR: MedHost

Required Skills and Experience:

• IV insertion and management
• NG tube insertion and care
• PICC and central line care
• Catheter care
• Post-operative surgical care, including total knee and hip replacements, hernia repairs, and colectomies

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Foley catheter management
• Telemetry experience
• Tube feeding management
• Care for patients with strokes
• Additional post-op care experience

Common Diagnoses and Treatments:

• Total Joint Replacement
• General Surgery Cases
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Diabetes
• Dementia
• Dialysis
• Stroke Management
• NSTEMI
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib)

Education Requirements:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
