Experienced ICU / Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) needed for a 13-week local, on-site contract in Salem, New Jersey (08079) starting January 26, 2026 . Join a collaborative ICU team delivering high-acuity, evidence-based patient care on a consistent 12-hour night shift schedule.

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 per contract (if needed)
• Requested Time Off (RTO): No more than 3 days
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990-$2,310

ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU / Critical Care experience required; PCU experience preferred
• License: Active New Jersey RN license or compact RN license
• Certifications (AHA): BLS , ACLS , NIHSS
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and care coordination skills in a high-acuity setting
• Orientation & Onboarding Requirements:
  • Completion of full orientation is mandatory ; failure to complete the full orientation process may result in immediate termination .
  • Once orientation classes are scheduled, candidates cannot reschedule the assigned classes.
  • A virtual welcome and required HealthStream modules must be completed within the assigned timeframe and completed by Monday .
  • In-person orientation classes are typically held Tuesday-Thursday ; class locations are provided/confirmed via HealthStream . POCT class is not completed during orientation week.
  • Candidates will receive an email from the hospital the Friday before the Monday start date with next-step details.

Critical Care Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide professional critical care nursing using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care to critically ill patients and respond to rapidly changing clinical conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate ICU patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses per policy and regulatory standards
• Educate and support patients and families with clear communication and advocacy
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, nursing standards of practice, and regulatory requirements
