Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

The Blood Collection Staff utilizes healthcare and customer service skills to assist with the blood collection process, including equipment setup, donor interaction, and safety procedures. Paid phlebotomy training is provided to grow healthcare skills within the American Red Cross. Responsibilities Utilize healthcare and customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process Collaborate with team to transport and setup equipment at collection sites Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations Take time to personally connect with donors and help them understand the impact of their donation Be detail oriented to ensure blood collected meets goals and regulatory requirements May drive Red Cross vehicles and work with team to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites Work variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required Position may require minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles Basic computer skills are required Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish preferred, other languages a plus) is preferred Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is preferred Prior leadership experience is preferred Skills Customer Service Verbal Communication Valid Driver's License Manual Dexterity Physical Stamina Basic Computer Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite Phlebotomy Healthcare Experience Donor Interaction Equipment Setup Safety Procedures Languages English, Spanish #J-18808-Ljbffr Global Roles
