As the first point of contact, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and visitors. Your main responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors in a warm and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience
• Answer and manage incoming phone calls, including screening and directing calls as appropriate
• Schedule appointments and maintain updated calendars for medical professionals
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information and update records as necessary
• Collect copayments and process payments, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
• Maintain tidy and organized reception area, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere
• Coordinate patient flow and ensure timely check-ins and check-outs
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
• Collaborate with medical staff and other administrative personnel to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance verification
• Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in managing patient records and processing payments
• Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices is a plus
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
