Logistics Specialist

Logistics Specialist – Molecular Devices (San Jose, CA) Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for customs broker inquiries and coordinate responses to confirm availability of requested information. Partner with Trade Compliance to obtain and communicate information required for customs clearance, coordinating with suppliers and shippers for complete and compliant commercial documentation. Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, support decision‑making, prevent part shortages, and optimize inventory through forecasting and performance tracking. Support the sourcing department by assisting in procurement from U.S.‑based and global suppliers, helping key team members with daily operations and strategic projects, and developing and maintaining reporting systems and tools such as daily/weekly OTD reports and Kanban processes. Manage inventory and material flow by identifying reduction opportunities, improving processes, and aligning inventory levels to meet on‑time delivery (OTD) goals; support on‑time delivery and customs clearance through exception reporting and discrepancy resolution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3+ years of experience in import documentation and customs clearance workflow, working with customs brokers and logistics providers; familiarity with data analysis, procurement, inventory control, and planning. Strong ability to work with large datasets and present insights in a clear, concise manner. Proven experience managing complex tasks such as project management, forecasting, and planning. Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and Oracle; strong attention to record accuracy and multitasking, customer service, and communication skills. Results‑driven and continuous improvement mindset, with experience in Kaizen, Kanban, and lean principles. Preferred Experience Supply Chain/Purchasing Kanban Salary and Benefits Annual salary range: $80,000 – $100,000, with eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.
