Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital-affiliated rehabilitation center in Brookhaven, NY. Operating during regular business hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, PTA responsibilities may occasionally require flexibility to meet patient needs or unexpected clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass:

• Directly assisting the Physical Therapist in executing individualized treatment plans that focus on mobility improvements, strength development, and functional enhancements for patients.
• Guiding patients through targeted therapeutic exercises and stretches, ensuring each session promotes physical well-being, pain relief, and recovery.
• Educating patients on body mechanics, proper exercise techniques, and the importance of adherence to home exercise programs to expedite their recovery.
• Administering therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapies under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Conducting careful monitoring and documentation of patient progress, including assessments of range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional gains.
• Preparing treatment areas and ensuring that all therapy equipment and supplies are organized and accessible for each session.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate patient care for optimal health outcomes.
• Providing emotional support and motivation to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
• Upholding ethical practices by maintaining strict patient confidentiality and respecting individual rights and privacy.

You will be working with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, athletes rehabilitating from sports injuries, and patients with neurological conditions or age-related issues. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions associated with physical therapy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Compensation and Benefits
