Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Madison, WI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Acute Medical/Progressive Care setting
• Provide direct patient care in an IMC Thoracic unit environment
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks
• Manage care for oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient populations
• Support ventilator-dependent and transplant patients as part of the care team
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown specialty
• Telemetry experience with oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient populations required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Must pass a telemetry examination prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; two attempts permitted, with a possible third attempt upon submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity academic medical or referral center environment
• Familiarity with both adult and pediatric telemetry rhythm interpretation
