- Must be at a minimum, a high school graduate
- Must be 21 years of age
- Willingness to drive a bus preferred
- Hourly rate based on certification
- Hourly
- Temporary part-time without benefits
- Position is subject to approval on an annual basis
- Uses a variety of classroom equipment and tools, including computers, copiers, calculators, writing instruments, scissors, and other instructional or child-specific equipment.
- Provides direct instructional support by tutoring students, assisting with homework, and supplementing lessons with relevant educational activities.
- Collaborates with core teachers to develop and implement plans for remedial instruction, particularly in reading and math.
- Implements lesson plans with fidelity, ensuring the integrity of academic time and promoting student engagement and participation.
- Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Supervises students to ensure their health, welfare, and safety, taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, or discipline concerns promptly to the appropriate authority.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding student records, school personnel, and sensitive information in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Follows Hyde County Schools policies and professional practices in all responsibilities and interactions.
- Demonstrates adaptability and professionalism under stress or in emergency situations.
- Communicates effectively using appropriate terminology, including technical, medical, legal, or counseling language as necessary.
- Prepares and completes a variety of written materials such as correspondence, reports, forms, handbooks, and instructional documents.
- Records and delivers information clearly; follows both oral and written instructions with precision.
- Applies logical and critical thinking skills to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Exercises sound judgment in comparing, evaluating, and interpreting data, behaviors, or materials.
- Notifies the coordinator of personal absences in a timely manner.
- Returns all program materials to their appropriate locations after use.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the coordinator to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the instructional program.
- Ability to manage instructional time.
- Ability to manage student behavior.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions,
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
- Ability to perform non-instructional duties as assigned.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data, work with record processes, and do extensive reading and research.
