Key Responsibilities of the RN – Emergency Department:
Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma
Monitor patient conditions and respond rapidly to life-threatening emergencies
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments according to physician orders
Perform emergency procedures such as wound care, splinting, cardiac monitoring, and resuscitation support
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Prioritize patient care effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN License
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
TNCC certification preferred
Strong critical-thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills
Experience caring for pediatric, adult, and geriatric emergency patients
Ability to work 12-hour day/evening shifts in a dynamic emergency care setting
