Ironworker

Duties/Responsibilities Read specifications or blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials. Hanging, connecting, and installing iron; cutting, positioning and bolting down steel bars. Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors. May erect metal storage tanks, and steel frames and assemble prefabricated metal buildings. Direct operation of cranes to move structural steel, reinforcing bars, and other materials onto and around the construction site. Make sure all pieces are fitted properly and complete repairs as necessary. Ensure quality workmanship on all completed work. Capable of meeting or exceeding established production standards. Trade-specific workforce quality. Maintain sufficient personal hand tools for assigned tasks. Perform quality control inspections on all work. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Minimum Physical Requirements Must have a VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE or STATE ID. Must PASS BACKGROUND CHECK - No Felonies or Misdemeanor Classes A and B. Must PASS DRUG SCREEN. Must either have OSHA 10 or 30 Certificate or Certificate of Completion, or is willing to go through the class right away. Must have WORK AUTHORIZATION in US. Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas. Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces, and/or other adverse locations. Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch. Work in all types of weather. Must have a working knowledge of all trade materials and tools. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. occasionally. And/Or up to 50 pounds of force frequently. And/Or greater than negligible up to 22 pounds of force to move objects constantly. Other Requirements LOCAL area workers only. (Austin, TX and suburbs). A minimum of 5 years of ironworking experience is required. Contributions Dental and vision insurance after 3 months.
