Materials Handler – AS9100

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Handler with experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of AS9100 quality standards . The Materials Handler will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, documenting, and distributing materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with established quality and handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Materials Management

• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, part numbers, and documentation.
• Inspect materials for accuracy and visible damage upon receipt.
• Properly identify, label, and store materials according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and investigate discrepancies.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and audits.
• Follow proper storage, handling, environmental, and preservation requirements.
• Safely operate material handling equipment as required.

Documentation & Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Record quantities, lot numbers, serial numbers, and other traceability information.
• Prepare and maintain packing lists, bills of lading, inventory reports, and related documentation.
• Ensure all material records are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with quality and AS9100 requirements.

AS9100 Compliance

• Apply AS9100 requirements to daily material handling activities.
• Support internal and external audits and inspections.
• Provide required documentation and traceability records during audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve material handling processes.
• Work with Quality Assurance to address non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with company quality and aerospace procedures.

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Quality, and other departments to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Communicate material shortages, availability, discrepancies, and delivery schedules.
• Respond to material requests and help maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility.
• Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives when applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AS9100 certification required.
• Previous experience as a Materials Handler, Material Specialist, Warehouse Associate, or similar role.
• Aerospace or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and quality procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles is a plus.
