Production Manager

Overview Job Location: Conyers, GA 30012. This position reports directly to the plant manager and is responsible for managing production supervisors and all daily production activities in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include staffing labor, identifying and meeting KPIs for all shifts, knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment, and ensuring employee safety, quality, and productivity for assigned operations. Essential Position Requirements SAFETY FIRST – Every employee must demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others. Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are in place and followed. Support the site leadership team, including assignment of job duties, ensuring KPIs are met and recorded daily, and ensuring produced products meet Cellofoam quality specifications and requirements. Complete daily production reports and shift paperwork as required. General understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures. Verify that all manufacturing production policies and procedures are met and tracked daily. Review machine data and KPIs to ensure optimal efficiency and output. Lead employee development – onboarding of new employees and completion of employee performance reviews. Attend and support daily production meetings. Responsible for the plant’s master production schedule (open order scheduling and planning). Maintain a clean and organized work area at the plant/site. Coach, develop, counsel, and discipline employees as needed. Perform other production duties as requested by supervisor. Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues. Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others. Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns. Maintain knowledge and compliance with corporate standards for business conduct and Federal anti-trust laws. Qualifications and Skills CORE COMPETENCIES: Good communication skills Ability to lead, direct, train and develop employees Support and optimize production output driving continuous improvement Mechanical knowledge of machinery and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance Ability to use measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, weigh scales) Quality Control and Analysis: conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality or performance Troubleshooting: determine causes of operating errors and resolve them Problem solving in a fast-paced environment Ability to delegate and manage responsibility Facilitate team building and development of employees Position Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of 3 to 5 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and understand CAD drawings and blueprints (preferred) Organizational, communication, and team-building skills Software Skills Computer proficiency Other Information Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays as required Excellent time management skills Overtime work may be required This Position Description is intended as a summary of the job responsibilities for this specific position.
